Sherry King - Director:

Sherry King has lived in central Florida most of her life. She has three sons, and two precious grandchildren.
Sherry has been working with children from birth to high school for over twenty five years. Her passion and commitment to children shines through in all she does. She has been blessed and led by God to serve our children here at Emmaus  Lutheran Preschool.
Sherry has her Director’s Credential, CDA National, and plans to continue her degree in Early Childhood Education, focusing on children with special needs.

Robin Billmeier - Office Administrator:

 

Robin Billmeier has worked with young children for almost 10 years. She has her Bachelor's degree in Child Psychology, has her DCF required classes and plans on pursuing her Director's Credential. She also has been working in office administration for about three years between her own business and Emmaus Lutheran Preschool. She enjoys working with children and has one of her own who just turned 7. She is a proud mom and a proud wife.

Jodi Noell - VPK A

Jodi Noell has lived in Central Florida for 17 years.  She is the proud mother of two wonderful children.  Jodi has 11 years experience working with preschoolers.  She has her DCF required 45 hours and is working on her CDA.

 

Sherry Liard -VPK A

Sherry Liard has been an Early Childhood Educator since 1995. She earned her national CDA through Seminole State College and is currently pursuing her degree in childhood education. Sherry is also enrolled in the Director Program as seminole State College. This is her fourth year at Emmaus Lutheran Preschool. Sherry was born and raised in Rye, New Hampshire and moved to Central Florida in 2001 to be close to her parents.  She is the mother of four children and a grandmother.

Jo Ann Johnson - VPK B

 

I have two children, twelve & fourteen. I was a stay at home mom for six years, which has truly opened my eyes to my true love and care for children. I have been working now for eight years as a pre-school teacher. I currently have my CDA. My career goal is to advance in the early childhood development field. To help achieve my career goal I am enrolled at Daytona State College.

 

I truly enjoy the challenge of having the children focus on one concept or project. Singing and dancing are just two of the many things I love about my job. I admire and respect the importance of my job. My job challenges me every day and at the end of the the day those are the things that reward me with great success and satisfaction. Being that the children are at a vital stage in their learning process, it is my duty to help prepare them for the obstacles to come.

Lindsey Peterson - VPK B

I was born in East Corinth, Maine, but I moved to the Central Florida area in 1993.  I was in high school when I realized I wanted to become a teacher. I graduated from the from the University of Central Florida in 2008 with a Bachelor's degree in English- Creative Writing knowing that I wanted to become an educator and work with kids.  After college, I attended the Educator Preparation Institute at Seminole State College to strengthen my teaching skills.  I am also currently working toward my child care training credentials with the Florida Department of Children and Families.  I came to Emmaus in January of 2011 as a substitute teacher and absolutely fell in love with the school and the kids!  I also taught full time for this past summer program (Summer Camp 2011).  It's my goal to inspire the kids to learn and grow through creativity and fun! I'm excited to start what will no doubt be another great year at Emmaus Lutheran Preschool!

Denisse Medina - 1 YEAR OLD CLASS

 

I was born and raised in Puerto Rico . On 2001, I moved to Florida with my family. I have 9 years of experience teaching professionally in a preschool environment. I worked with different age groups of children from one to 4 years of age.  I obtained my degree (Child Care Specialist Apprenticeship) at Daytona State College in December 2008. I am looking forward to teaching at Emmaus Preschool and bring joy to your little ones.

 

 

Rebecca Arthur- 1 YEAR OLD CLASS

Rebecca Arthur (Mrs. Becky) is the Assistant Teacher for the 1 year old classroom. I have been happily married for 8 years and the proud mother of 2 wonderful children, Jackson (8) and Rylee (4). 

 

 

 

 

 

Ashley Rhodes - EARLY PRESCHOOL ( 2-3 year olds )

 

I am so excited to be a part of the Emmaus Lutheran Preschool family.  I have been working in childcare for over four years now.  I have had the opportunity to work in a nursery and be a Childcare Counselor at the YMCA.  I also have my AA degree from Daytona State College.  I am currently enrolled at UCF in the Bachelors program for Secondary Mathematics Education.  I believe God has given me a gift and a passion for children.  I love going to work and having the chance to impact a child in a positive way.  I look forward to the year ahead.

Amber Rhodes - PRESCHOOL ( 3-4 year olds )

I have been working with children for a little over four years, and it is something I cannot imagine living without. I truly believe God has blessed me with a passion for working with children. Over the years I have been involved with the children’s ministry at my church including Vacation Bible School, as well as worked in child care for the past four years. It has been such a blessing to positively affect a multitude of children throughout my life. I strive every day to be a positive role model to these children as well as instill key Christian values from an early age. I am excited to be a part of the Emmaus Lutheran Preschool family this year, and I cannot wait to learn and grow from the children I will encounter throughout this new year.

Peggy Beehner - PRESCHOOL ( 3-4 Year olds )

Peggy is a lifelong resident of Central FL., married for 18 yrs. She is a member of Emmaus Lutheran Church and is currently employed there as a part time Nursery Attendant. She volunteers with the 3 yr. old class for the 2010’ summer Vacation Bible School program.
Peggy has worked at Emmaus Lutheran Preschool as a Teacher Assistant with the 3-4 yr. old class for the 2011’ Summer Camp program.
Peggy is currently completing In-service Child Care Training through Florida Department of Children and Families.

Future plans include In-service training continuing education and pursuing a Child Development Associate degree

Kaley Birch - Afternoon Classes & Assistant Teacher

I graduated from Deltona High School with my DCF 40 hours. I am currently going to Daytona State College to get my degree in early childhood education. I look forward to the new school year at Emmaus and hope to have lots of fun with all the kids.
